    Mississippi River Commission schedules high-water inspection trip

    VICKSBURG, Miss. -- The Mississippi River Commission will conduct its annual high-water inspection trip on the Mississippi River, April 8-12, 2024.

    St. Claude Bridge closed to traffic morning of April 2 while equipment moved to IHNC Lock

    NEW ORLEANS – The St. Claude Bridge in New Orleans, La., is scheduled to be closed to vehicular traffic on April 2, 2024, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. while the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, New Orleans District conducts emergency repairs to address a failed hinge gate assembly at the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal (IHNC) Lock.

    All Weather Access Road to be closed along portion of St. Charles Parish Levee in St. Rose, Louisiana

    The All Weather Access Road (AWAR) will be closed to the public beginning April 2, 2024, and will remain closed for the duration of construction. Construction is expected to be complete in late 2025.

    Corps launches new web-based verification and application tool for Southwest Coastal Louisiana Project

    Calcasieu, Cameron and Vermillion Parishes property owners can now quickly and easily verify if they are eligible to participate and apply for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisiana’s Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority Project with a new web-based tool called “Is My Property Eligible.” The “Is My Property Eligible” tool allows property owners to complete questions in eight categories online to get immediate verification if they reside in the project area and submit an application.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District released today the Draft Programmatic Environmental Assessment (DPEA #598) for the Reach A, Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction Project, Morganza to the Gulf of Mexico (MTG), Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana for public review and comment.

    USACE awards contract for Mississippi River Levee seepage remediation project in Iberville Parish, La.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, awarded a $4.4 million contract Feb. 16, 2024, to address seepage remediation for a portion of the levee in Iberville Parish, La., as part of the overall Mississippi River Levees (MRL) construction project.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released the Morganza to the Gulf Project, Surveys and Borings Analysis, Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes, Louisiana Environmental Assessment #597 and the associated 404(b)(1) for a 30-day public review and comment period starting January 24, 2024.
