Federal, state, and local official break ground on the Ascension Parish Water Meter Replacement Project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Ascension Parish held a Groundbreaking Ceremony to celebrate the start of the Ascension Parish Water Meter Replacement Project. The project will replace over two thousand water meters across the city of Donaldsonville, Louisiana. A $4.5 million construction contract was awarded to remove and replace existing manually read water meters with remotely read water meters.

Comite River Diversion flood management project alignment requires permanent closure of Barnett Road segment in East Baton Rouge Parish

Beginning April 15, 2024, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans District will permanently close the section of Barnett Road between U.S. Hwy 61 and Carney Road near Zachary, La. to begin construction of the Comite River Diversion Channel Segment #1 in that area.

Recommended Plan for St. Tammany Parish Feasibility Study sent to USACE Headquarters for Review and Approval

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District in conjunction with USACE Headquarters in Washington, D.C. has completed the District reviews of the St. Tammany Parish Louisiana Feasibility Study which investigated flood risk management and coastal storm risk management solutions to reduce the risk from flood damages caused by riverine, rainfall, and coastal storm flooding in St. Tammany Parish.
