The purpose of the Amite River and Tributaries, East of the Mississippi River, Louisiana, Feasibility Study is to investigate flood risk reduction solutions to reduce flood damages caused by rainfall in the Amite River Basin.  The study is authorized by the Resolution of the Committee on Public Works of the United States Senate, adopted on April 14, 1967 and is  funded through the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 (BBA-18) (P.L. 115-123), Division B, Subdivision 1, Title IV.
