    On January 18, 2022, federal, state, and local officials gathered to mark the signing of a Project Partnering Agreement for the Morganza to the Gulf of Mexico project that was executed on December 28, 2021 to kick-off federal-led construction for the project.

    The public is invited to provide input on the proposed emergency bank stabilization on Bayou Plaquemine along Louisiana Highway 77 in Iberville Parish, La. The 30-day public comment period begins on Dec. 9, 2021 and concludes on Jan. 8, 2022.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District has released the final Comprehensive Environmental Document (CED), Phase II for the Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction System today for a 30-day public review.

    Draft Environmental Assessment #586, “New Orleans to Venice Hurricane Protection Project, Federal Hurricane Protection Levee, Utilization of the Woodland North Borrow Area for Use from Woodpark to Pointe Celeste Pump Station” is available for a 30-day public review and comment period beginning Oct. 23 through Nov. 22.

    Contract awarded for test section work for the West Shore Lake Pontchartrain project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, recently awarded a contract for test section work on the West Shore Lake Pontchartrain (WSLP) Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction project. This work will support the construction of approximately 17.5 miles of levee system that will provide 100-year level storm surge risk reduction to the area extending from Bonnet Carrė spillway to Garyville.
