Effective May 25,2020 interested parties are hereby notified that a request for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. Section 408) has been received and will be evaluated by the New Orleans District. Click here to read the official notice.

Effective May 28, 2020 interested parties are hereby notified that a request for permission to alter U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. Section 408) has been received and will be evaluated by the New Orleans District. Written comments, including any objections to the proposed alteration, stating reasons therefor, are being solicited from anyone having an interest in the requested alteration of USACE projects. This Public Notice solicits comments only on the proposed alteration of the eight federal projects and fourteen federal easements described below and depicted on the attached drawings. 408 Public Notices

16-1397, Blackwater Harvey, LLC proposes to install a new ship dock consisting of four breasting dolphins, five anchor piles, a loading platform, two piperacks (structures for routing pipes), a walkway, and stone placement along the right descending (west) bank of the Mississippi River near Harvey

Blackwater Harvey, LLC proposes to install a new 50-foot by 100-foot ship dock with associated piles and fenders on the Mississippi River.  The dock would have four breasting dolphins, five anchor piles with chains and buoys for mooring, and a loading platform.   A 20-foot wide piperack and walkway would be constructed from the dock to the Mississippi River levee and another piperack would lead to an existing tank farm facility on the protected side of the levee.  Approximately 500 cubic yards of stone would be used for scour protection around the piles as shown in the attached drawings.
