To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT: Coastal Club, Inc., c/o C.L. Jack Stelly & Associates, Post Office Box 53353, Lafayette, Louisiana 70505.

DESCRIPTION: DA Permit MVN-2011-01094-WPP was issued to United World Energy on August 7, 2012, under the authority of NOD-13, to improve and/or construct a 7,786 linear foot access road to access and drill Coastal Club 6 Well No. 1. Approximately 4.6 acres of Freshwater Marsh habitat was impacted as a result of this project. As required by compensatory mitigation, the permittee purchased 8.1 acres of Freshwater Marsh credits from an approved mitigation bank to offset unavoidable losses to wetland functions caused by project implementation. Under NOD-13, condition #u; Road fills and or/drilling pads in wetlands constructed with native material shall be degraded when locations which they were installed to serve are abandoned. If the road fills and/or drilling pads in wetlands were constructed with hauled-in material, that material shall be removed from the site and hauled to a non-wetland area. The original permittee, United World Energy has applied for a separate modification to DA Permit MVN-2011-01094-WPP, to abandon the well pad and degrade the well site. The current Public Notice is for an application received from, Coastal Club, to keep the constructed roadway in place and not degrade any part of the roadway. Prior to issuance of a permit, the Corps would require the applicant to purchase required credits from a mitigation bank to offset any further unavoidable losses to wetland functions caused by project implementation.

LOCATION: Located at Latitude 29.941111, Longitude -93.027222, in South Chalkley Field, approximately 3.8 miles northeast of the Gibbstown Bridge, in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The Project is located within the Mermentau Basin, Hydrologic Unit 08080202.
