ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT:  Gulf Island Fabrication, PO Box 310, Houma, LA 70361-0310

LOCATION OF WORK:  In Houma Navigation Canal, Section 11,  T17S-R17E and Sections 17, 15 and 1, T18S-R17E at 583 Thompson Road in Houma, Louisiana, in Terrebonne Parish, within the Terrebonne Basin in hydrologic unit (HUC 08090302), as shown on the attached drawings (Latitude 29.54986 N, Longitude -90.70693 W).    

CHARACTER OF WORK:  The work described herein was previously authorized as MVN-2011-02558-WNN issued to Gulf Island, LLC. on February 27, 2012. The applicant has requested Department of the Army authorization to perform maintenance dredging on three existing slips and place the dredged material in a previously approved disposal area to allow ballasting of barges and vessels within the designated slip areas to proper draftA total of approximately 445,900 cubic yards of accumulated sediment material are anticipated to be removed cumulatively from the three slips.  The periodic maintenance activity is expected to occur on an as-needed basis.  The proposed project would impact approximately 29 acres of non-vegetated water bottoms.  

The applicant has designed the project to avoid and minimize direct and secondary adverse impacts to the maximum extent practicable.  No impacts to vegetated water bottoms or to wetlands are proposed or anticipated and all dredged materials will be placed into a previously authorized disposal area.
