ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT:  Sterling Sugars, LLC, c/o Wayne M. LeBiche Engineering, LLC, 117 Emile Verret Road, New Iberia, Louisiana 70560.

LOCATION:  Latitude 29.923169, Longitude -91.837506.  Located at the northwest quadrant of the intersection of LA  Hwy 83 and Earl B. Wilson Road, approximately 500 yards south to the Port of Iberia, near the community of New Iberia, Louisiana, in Iberia Parish.    

DESCRIPTION:   Department of the Army (DA) permit, MVN-2008-03083-WDD, was issued to Sterling Sugars, LLC, on April 22, 2010, to excavate a new channel in order to create a waterfront industrial development site.  The project has not been started and the permit expired on March 31, 2015.  Approximately 1.20 acres of jurisdictional wetlands would be impacted by the proposal.  There are no changes to the project since it was originally permitted.  The applicant purchased 1.2 acres of mitigation at Lake Long Mitigation Bank, as compensatory mitigation at the time of original issuance of the DA permit.  The applicant is requesting that the DA permit be reissued for the permitted activity.  The Corps shall determine if any further mitigation shall be required prior to reissuance of the subject DA permit.
