Lane closure to occur on Jefferson Avenue

Southeast Louisiana Drainage Project (SELA)

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, and its contractors will temporarily close the intersection at Jefferson Avenue and Chestnut Street for work related to the Southeast Louisiana Drainage Project (SELA). Weather permitting, the closure will begin on Friday, March 27 and be in place for approximately one week. The closure is for jet grout installation and is being coordinated with Benjamin Franklin Elementary School.

During this closure, traffic can travel northbound on Jefferson Avenue.

Throughout construction, public safety is the Corps’ number one priority. The Corps will continue to work closely with its partners at the City of New Orleans.
