NAME OF APPLICANT:  Terrebonne Levee & Conservation District, c/o T. Baker Smith, LLC, PO Box 2266, Houma, Louisiana 70361.

LOCATION OF WORK:  In Boudreaux Canal, Sections 94 and 95, T19S-R18E, just west of Louisiana Highway 56 in Chauvin, Louisiana, in Terrebonne Parish, within the West Central Louisiana Coastal watershed in hydrologic unit (HUC 08090302), as shown on the attached drawings.

CHARACTER OF WORK:  The applicant has requested Department of the Army authorization to maintain and rehabilitate the Boudreaux Canal Weir including replacement installation of a navigational dolphin and the deposition rip rap material to maintain the weir and stabilize the bank line.  Approximately 2,320 cubic yards of rock rip rap material would be hauled in and deposited to achieve required elevation requirements to ensure proper function of the weir.  Additionally, a 120’ steel pile dolphin with warning markers will be installed to mark the southwest side of the weir and provide a navigation aid to mariners.

The proposed project is situated within approximately 0.53 acres in the Boudreaux Canal in open water and along 340 linear feet of the adjacent bank line.  A Preliminary analysis has determined that the proposed project would directly impact 0.02 acres of emergent wetlands.
