ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT:  Belle Chasse Marine Transportation, LLC, 5813 Citrus Boulevard, Harahan, Louisiana 70123.

 

LOCATION OF WORK:  The project is located on the right descending bank of the Mississippi River, at about 64.3 miles above Head of Passes, at 14621 LA Highway 23, near Naomi, Louisiana, in Plaquemines Parish, as shown on the attached drawings.

CHARACTER OF WORK:  Install and maintain two mooring dolphins, a 20’ x 40’ floating dock,

286’ x 4’ elevated walkway with attached ramp, a 33’ x 6’ concrete walk, five new power poles and road extension with attached 50’ x 50’ limestone parking area. Project implementation will require a 180’ x 50’ area within the batture to be cleared for work space and installation of the elevated walkway. The cleared trees will either be hauled off-site or burned on-site.  The cleared area will be allowed to return to its natural state with the occasional trimming along the elevated walkway. No dredging will be required. Approximately 0.02 acre of non-vegetated waterbottoms and 0.21 acre of jurisdictional wetlands will be impacted by the proposed activities. The applicant wishes to allow a one year growing season in order to offset the adverse impact to jurisdictional wetlands.
