How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

LOCATION OF WORK: The project would affect waters of the United States associated with an existing drainage lateral. The project/review area is located on the east side of Louisiana Highway 27, approximately 0.30 of a mile from the intersection of Louisiana Highway 27 and Louisiana Highway 384 at Latitude North 29.997544°N and Longitude West -93.086308° W in Bell City, Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

PROJECT PURPOSE:
Basic: Commercial Development

Overall: The purpose of the project would be to provide safe and accessible parking and laydown area for area construction projects, particularly for the Venture Global LNG Plant. The project site would be used as a parking area for employees, who would be transported to and from the Venture Global LNG Plant to ease traffic concerns in Cameron. The project site would also be used as a shipping/receiving site and temporary storage for large/heavy equipment to facilitate site access during low traffic periods.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The applicant requests authorization to excavate approximately 37,383 cubic yards of earthen fill material and place earthen fill material onsite and 94,933 cubic yards of crushed stone/gravel within a 1,597-foot wide by 1,793-foot long area for a parking lot and work area, place approximately 71,350 cubic yards of hauled-in fill material to construct a 405-foot wide by 500-foot long construction area with a maximum soil elevation height of 11 feet, excavate approximately 29,404 cubic yards of earthen fill material for a 6.0 acre detention pond and place approximately 1,500 cubic yards within a 6 foot wide area around the detention pond, place approximately 400 cubic yards of concrete and 200 cubic yards of hauled-in fill material for four 8-inch thick concrete entrance DOTD specifications off of Louisiana Highway 27, excavate approximately 931 cubic yards of earthen fill material within a 40 foot wide by 1,258-foot long by 1-foot deep area for a swale ditch, excavate 770 cubic yards of earthen fill material within a 20-foot wide by 1,040-foot long by 1-foot deep area for a drainage feature, excavate approximately 6,278 cubic yards of earthen fill material within a 51-foot wide by 1,108-foot long by 1-foot deep drainage detention area, and install two 36-inch diameter corrugated steel culverts, eight 18-inch diameter corrugated steel culverts, which four of the 18-diameter culverts would tie-in into the existing parish maintained drainage feature. Approximately 15. 08 acres of wet pasture would be permanently impacted via project implementation.
