ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

WATERWAY AND LOCATION: The project would affect waters of the United States and navigable waters of the United States associated with the Calcasieu River. The project/review area is located along Interstate (I-10) from its intersection with Interstate 210 (I-210) to east of its intersection with Ryan Street, in Sections 25 & 36, Township 9 South, Range 9 West; its Point of Beginning at 30o 14’ 14.7” North, -93o 17’ 12” West to its Point of Ending at 30o 14’ 9” North, -93o 12’ 38.3” West; in Lake Charles, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana.

PROJECT PURPOSE

Basic: The basic project purpose is to aid in transportation improvements.

Overall: The overall project purpose is to improve system continuity, reduce congestion and improve mobility along this portion of the I-10 corridor and Sampson Street as well as improve functional deficiencies and improve safety across the Calcasieu River Bridge.

PROPOSED WORK: The applicant requests authorization to clear, grade and deposit fill for work associated with the widening and complete re-pavement of a section of I-10 including its ramps and service roads, the re-configuration of I-10’s interchange with Sampson Street, and the removal and replacement of the Calcasieu River Bridge. The proposed work will permanently impact approximately 16.3 acres of low-quality emergent wetlands, 1 acre of low-quality scrub shrub wetlands and 5.3 acres of low to medium quality forested wetlands.
