ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT: Terrebonne Levee and Conservation District, c/o GIS Engineering, Attn: Mr. Kodi Babin, 197 Elysian Dr., Houma, LA 70363

LOCATION OF WORK: Located in Terrebonne Parish, along and to the south of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, south of Houma, Louisiana, (lat. 29 28 14.97, long. -90 46 01.78), as shown within the attached drawings. (Hydrologic Unit Code 08090302, Terrebonne Basin Watershed).

CHARACTER OF WORK: The applicant has requested Department of Army authorization to clear, grade, excavate, and deposit fill to construct segments 1, 4, and 5 of the Reach A levee, as part of the Morganza to the Gulf flood protection system. These segments will connect to Segments 2 and 3, which are currently under design and construction by the United States Army Corps of Engineers to form a continuous levee along Reach A of the Morganza to the Gulf. Construction of the project has begun under a previous Emergency Authorization granted by the USACE, New Orleans District Commander, to reduce the threat to public safety from potential tropical disturbances within the Gulf of Mexico. The project footprint is approximately 68.7 acres, and the project as proposed would permanently impact approximately 61.2 acres of wetlands through fill and excavation activities. Fill operations will include the deposition of approximately 500,977 cubic yards of earthen material for construction of the levee segments.
