ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

LOCATION OF WORK: A linear project extending from Mississippi River mile 53 and 54 above head of passes to Delacroix, in Plaquemines and Saint Bernard Parishes, Louisiana (lat. 29.757419, long. -89.795197), as shown within the attached drawings. (Hydrologic Unit Code 08090203, Lake Pontchartrain Watershed).

CHARACTER OF WORK: Excavate, transport, and deposit fill to construct the proposed East Bank Sediment Transport Corridor. Project construction would include the hydraulic dredging of approximately 99 acres in the Mississippi River and transporting approximately 4,693,609.00 cubic yards of material using a 30-inch pipe for deposition into 304.1 acres of waters of the US and 145.75 acres of jurisdictional wetlands. An additional 6.16 acres of jurisdictional wetlands and 2.56 acres of jurisdictional waters would be excavated for earthen containment dike borrow construction. The sediment dredged from the Mississippi River would create a permanent dredge pipeline corridor (PDPC), in addition to several marsh creation areas (MCAs). As proposed, this project would temporarily close navigation to Unnamed Bayou 2 (see Sheet 33 of the drawings), Dredged Canal 2 (Sheet 27), Bayou La Croix (Sheet 26), Bayou Long 1 (Sheet 28) waterways; permanently close navigation to Unnamed Bayou 1 (Sheet 24), Bayou Long 2 (Sheet 29), and Dredged Canal 1 (Sheet 23) waterways; and alter access to Bayou Gentilly (Sheet 39-41), Back Levee Canal (Sheet 22), River aux Chenes (Sheet 25), Alligator Pass (Sheet 30, 44), Lake Petit Passage (Sheet 31), Captain Jack Canal (Sheet 38), Dredged Canal 3 (Sheet 32) waterways during project construction.
