How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice.

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page. Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period. The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request. If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

LOCATION OF WORK: Located at the intersection of Highland Road and Siegen Lane, Section 38, Township 8 South, Range 1 East near Baton Rouge, Louisiana in East Baton
Rouge Parish within the Lake Pontchartrain Basin in hydrologic unit (HUC 08070202), as shown on the attached drawings. Coordinates: 30.350788, -91.083377.

CHARACTER OF WORK: The applicant has requested Department of the Army authorization to clear, grade, excavate, and deposit fill and/or aggregate material to construct and maintain roadway improvements including addition of asphalt turning lanes, two culverts, and extended lanes to support the addition of the turn lanes. Approximately 4,950.27 cubic yards of earthen material would be excavated and reused as fill on site or hauled offsite to an upland, non-wet disposal location. The project proposes to impact approximately 1 acre of jurisdictional forested and emergent wetlands. Approximately 0.06 acre of jurisdictional Other Waters of the US would be directly impacted by fill placement as a result of the project. It is anticipated that the proposed action would have minimal impact on adjacent wetlands.
