Published Dec. 30, 2024
Expiration date: 1/19/2025
NAME OF APPLICANT: Chevron Environmental Management Company, attn.: Mr. Ryan Rivault, 100 Northpark Blvd., Covington, Louisiana 70433.

LOCATION OF WORK: Located within the Bayou Gauche area, along Bayou des Allemends at canals 12 and 13 of the Paradis Mitigation Bank area, in St. Charles Parish Louisiana, (lat. 29.807744, long. -90.44476), as shown within the attached drawings. (Hydrologic Unit Code 08090301, Barataria Watershed).

CHARACTER OF WORK: The proposed project is to chip vegetation and clear a 50foot Right of Way (ROW) along the existing Canals 12 and 13 to accommodate maintenance and access to the canals by St. Charles Parish. The proposed work will be accomplished by utilizing a marsh buggy and skid steer along the canals to remove vegetation via chipping to re-establish a 50-foot conservation servitude along both sides of the canals. The purpose of the proposed project is to provide a ROW for future maintenance work and access to the canals. The project as proposed has the potential to permanently impact approximately 26.43 acres of potentially jurisdictional wetlands, which would be a habitat conversion (forested to an emergent wetland for the right-of way by removal of vegetation). Chipped materials will be spread on site, in thin layers not to exceed 4 inches, resulting in an additional 55-acres of temporary impacts.
