To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

THIS IS A PUBLIC NOTICE REPOSTING TO CORRECT PLANS INCLUDED WITHIN THE ORIGINAL PUBLIC NOTICE DATED JUNE 17, 2024:  COULEE CLEANOUT AND IMPROVEMENTS IN LAFAYETTE PARISH

NAME OF APPLICANT: City of Carencro, c/o: C.H. Fenstermaker & Associates, LLC, 210 East St. Peter Street., Carencro, Louisiana 70520.

LOCATION OF WORK: Located in Lafayette Parish, located off 511 W Gloria Switch Road, in Carencro, Louisiana, (lat. 30.29778° N, long. -92.03639° W), as shown within the enclosed drawings. (Hydrologic Unit Code 08080103, Francis Coulee Watershed)

CHARACTER OF WORK: The applicant has requested Department of Army authorization to perform the cleaning out of existing coulee and culverts. Some re-alignment of bank-line will be required. Articulated concrete block mats will be installed at cross-sections C-C (34 linear ft.) and D-D (84 linear ft.) in Lafayette Parish. The purpose of the proposed project is to improve drainage flow and prevent bank erosion. The proposed earthen fill discharge is 30 cubic yards, and the proposed earthen excavation total is 835 cubic yards. The proposed concrete block matting impacts are 510 square yards, and a surface area of other waters filled for a total of 0.06 acres. No impacts to wetlands are anticipated.
