To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

LOCATION OF WORK: Located along and within the Mississippi River, left descending bank, near river mile 183.9, on an approximate 37.11-acre site located northeast and along LA Highway 75, in Sections 50, 3, & 11, Townships 9 &10 South, Range 2 East, near Geismar, Louisiana, in Ascension Parish, within the Pontchartrain Basin in hydrologic unit (HUC 08070202), as shown on the attached drawings (Latitude 30.211190 N, Longitude -91.003002 W).

CHARACTER OF WORK: The applicant has requested a Department of the Army permit to install and maintain three (3) 8-inch pipelines from the previously permitted Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation site to the existing IMTT’s Geismar Terminal. The proposed modification also proposes the expansion of existing marine facilities with the addition of a new equipment platform (52-foot x 33-foot), expansion of existing pipe rack, and two new foundations and process equipment are proposed the existing IMTT tank facility. Approximately 4,500 cubic yards of onsite material would be excavated and placed as fill material in jurisdictional areas. Approximately 1,500 crushed stone gravel material and 300 cubic yards of rip rap material would be placed in jurisdictional areas. The project proposes to temporarily impact approximately 0.67 acre of jurisdictional herbaceous wetlands. The project would permanently convert approximately 0.26 acre of jurisdictional bottomland hardwood habitat and 0.04 acre of jurisdictional cypress tupelo swamp habitat into a maintained herbaceous habitat pipeline right-of-way. Approximately 0.0002 acre of jurisdictional Other Waters of the US would be directly impacted by fill placement as a result of the project and 0.00006 acre of temporary impacts to Other Waters of the US.
