Published Feb. 12, 2024
Expiration date: 3/13/2024
NAME OF APPLICANT: LMP Truck & Dirt Services, LLC., c/o John Maurin of Lanier & Associates Consulting Engineers, Inc., 4101 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115.

LOCATION OF WORK: On the Mississippi River at RM 200.5, right descending bank in Plaquemine, Louisiana, in Iberville Parish, within the Mississippi River Basin in hydrologic unit (HUC 08070100), as shown on the attached drawings (Latitude 30.250736 N, Longitude -91.117736 W).

CHARACTER OF WORK: The project site exists as a river silt extraction facility previously authorized as MVN-2006-03213-CX on 8 December 2006 and extended for continuous operation as MVN-2006-03213-CL on 14 August 2012 and MVN-2006-03213-CG on 21 June 2018. The applicant has requested Department of the Army authorization to modify the previous permit to include an expansion of capability for aggregate unloading by installing and maintaining a spudded barge and barge fleeting. The applicant states that the barge fleet will be secured at the site using existing deadman anchors. The proposed expansion would impact approximately 4.22 acres of traditionally navigable waters in order to unload and transport approx. 185,000 cubic yards of aggregate material per year. It is anticipated that the proposed action would have minimal impact on adjacent wetlands.
