ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT: Lafayette Consolidated Government, 1515 East University

LOCATION OF WORK: Located near Webb Coulee and Sixteenth Street Coulee in
Lafayette Parish, off Dawn Street and near Pa Davis Park, in the community of
Lafayette, Louisiana, (Latitude North: 30.228111°N, Longitude West: -91.986639°W), as shown within the enclosed drawings. (Hydrologic Unit Code 08080103, Vermilion-Teche Basin).

CHARACTER OF WORK: Work consists of excavating approximately 27,767 cubic
yards of earthen fill material for the construction of detention pond No. 1, approximately 97,678 cubic yards of earthen fill material for the construction of detention pond No. 2,545 cubic yards of earthen fill material for the installation of a 50-foot wide by 82-foot long Weir No. 1, 565 cubic yards of earthen fill material for the installation of a 50-foot wide by 88-foot long Weir No. 2, and 705 cubic yards of earthen fill material for the installation of a 50-foot wide by 120-foot long Weir No. 3, and placing approximately 95 cubic yards of earthen fill material and 6.20 cubic yards of revetment for 24-inch diameter 82-foot long outfall pipe No. 1, 95 cubic yards of earthen fill material and 6.20 cubic yards of revetment for the 24-inch diameter 88-foot long outfall pipe No. 2, 140 cubic yards of earthen fill material and 6.20 cubic yards of revetment for the 24-inch
diameter 122-foot long outfall pipe No. 3, 57 cubic yards of concrete for Weir No. 1, 452 cubic yards of concrete for Weir No. 2, and 83 cubic yards of concrete for Weir No. 3. Approximately 8.25 acres of forested wetlands would be permanently impacted and 0.36 of an acre of non-wetland waters would be temporarily impacted via project implementation. Approximately 1.06 acres of forested wetlands would not be cleared via project implementation. The purpose of the project is to provide flood protection within the local community. If a Department of the Army permit is granted, the applicant has
proposed to mitigate unavoidable wetlands impacts at an approved and acceptable mitigation bank within the N.O. District.
