Public Notices Overview

Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT: Transcontinental Gas Pipeline Company, LLC, c/o: Michelle Cortez, 13100 Northwest Freeway, Suite 150, Houston, Texas, Louisiana 77040.

LOCATION OF WORK: Located in Terrebonne Parish, in state and federal waters of the Gulf of Mexico, Louisiana, (lat. 29.000792, long. -90.795159), as shown within the enclosed drawings. Hydrologic Unit Code 08090302, Terrebonne Watershed.

CHARACTER OF WORK: The proposed project would include the abandoning of approximately 32.1 linear miles of natural gas pipelines within the Pelto and Ship Shoal Blocks of state and federal offshore waters. A total of six pipeline segments would be abandoned. Four pipeline segments would be abandoned entirely in federal waters; whereas two pipeline segments to be abandoned are located both in federal and state waters. Approximately 26.5 miles of pipeline would be removed in federal waters and 5.6 miles of pipeline from both federal and state waters. Additionally, the applicant proposes to abandon risers in place from two offshore facilities (South Pelto 10 A Platform, and South Pelto 11 F Platform) and remove risers from one offshore facility (Ship Shoal 70 Platform). A total of approximately 1,156.09 acres of unvegetated waterbottoms would be temporarily impacted by the proposed project due to barge staging. The applicant has not proposed to provide compensatory mitigation, as there are no permanent impacts to waterbottoms anticipated by this project as currently proposed.
