CHARACTER OF WORK: Clear, excavate, grade and place approximately 108,565-cubic yards of sand, 83,921-cubic yards of stone/gravel, 7,224-cubic yards of concrete, 6,300-cubic yards of asphalt and 1,800-cubic yards of native earthen material to facilitate the construction of a chemical processing facility including barge loading/unloading docks, warehouses, a railyard with associated spur track, and appurtenant structures. The applicant proposes to compensate for unavoidable project-related impacts to approximately 37.14-acres of jurisdictional wetlands through the purchase of wetland credits from a Corps’ approved mitigation bank within the appropriate watershed.
