Public Notices Overview

How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice.

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page. Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period. The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request. If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

LOCATION OF WORK: Located along the west side of LA Hwy 660, in Houma, Louisiana, in Terrebonne Parish, as shown on the enclosed drawings. Latitude: 29.653469° Longitude: -90.743850° Hydrologic Unit Code 08090302 (Terrebonne Basin Watershed)

CHARACTER OF WORK: The applicant has requested authorization to clear, grade, excavate and deposit fill and/or aggregate material to construct a residential housing development, Adley Oaks Subdivision. Work will include construction of 227 lots and residential home sites, roads, green spaces, utilities, drainage infrastructure and retention ponds. Approximately 152,800 cubic yards of material will be excavated and deposited on-site to achieve the necessary grade elevations. The applicant proposes to re-route a segment of an existing jurisdictional ditch, by filling 590 linear feet of the ditch and excavating 724 linear feet of re-routed ditch, as shown on the permit drawings. The project is expected to impact to approximately 2.3 acres of wetlands and approx. 0.1 acre of waters of the U.S. The applicant proposes to purchase compensatory mitigation credits from a USACE approved mitigation bank for unavoidable wetland impacts, should a DA permit be issued.
