ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT:  Terrebonne Levee and Construction District, c/o: GIS Engineering, L.L.C., 450 Laurel Street, Suite 1500, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70363.

LOCATION OF WORK: Located in Terrebonne Parish, Section 55, Township 16S and Range 14W, located near Geraldine Road, in the community of Gibson, Louisiana, (lat. 29.662462, long. -90.993778), as shown within the attached drawings. (Hydrologic Unit Code 08090302, Terrebonne Basin Watershed)

CHARACTER OF WORK:  An emergency permit authorization was issued by USACE, permit number MVN-2019-00401-WPP, for the construction of Reach 4 of the Bayou Black Levee Alignment. This emergency authorization for the Reach 4 alignment was requested from USACE on April 12th, 2019. Reach 4 ties the existing Reach 3 alignment directly to the Bayou Black Floodgate in Gibson, LA. The Reach 4 levee segment is currently under construction. Approximately 73,000 CY of dirt/material will be hauled in from offsite for the construction of the levee. The total length of the proposed levee is approximately 11,250 ft. The estimated acreage of direct impacts to wetlands is approximately 9.6 acres. If a Department of the Army permit is warranted, the applicant has proposed to mitigate any unavoidable wetlands impacts at an approved and acceptable mitigation bank within the N.O. District.
