MVN-2010-00874-WII

Published June 3, 2019
Expiration date: 6/22/2019

NAME OF APPLICANT:  Cameron LNG, LLC, c/o T. Baker Smith, LLC, Attn:  Mr. Brady Trahan, 107 Global Circle, Lafayette, LA  70503.

LOCATION OF WORK: The proposed maintenance dredging is to be conducted at the Cameron LNG Terminal on the Calcasieu River Ship Channel, (30.038333, -93.334444), adjacent to Louisiana Highway 27, approximately 2 miles south of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

CHARACTER OF WORK:  The applicant has requested a Department of the Army (DA) authorization to conduct maintenance dredging of their two protected LNG ship berths that were originally dredged to a depth of 45 feet below Mean Low Tide (MLT) and one construction dock that was dredged to a depth of -12.0 (NAVD88).   Regular maintenance dredging would need to be conducted to maintain these depths to allow for LNG ships to operate safely.  Approximately 700,000 cubic yards of dredged material would be removed yearly, and placed in designated open water disposal areas west of Louisiana Highway 27 (see attached drawings), via a dredge disposal pipeline from the dredge area to the disposal site.  Project implementation would impact approximately 724.73 acres of open water area via the beneficial use of the dredged material to create marsh habitat.
