Public Notices Overview

ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT:  BRIAN DUFRENE, 2825 Bayou Dularge Road, Theriot, LA, 70397

LOCATION OF WORK:  Bayou Dularge, left descending bank, in Section 3, Township 20 South, Range 16 East, located at 2825 Louisiana Highway 315, Theriot, Louisiana, (29.3575, -90.823611), in Terrebonne Parish, as shown on the enclosed drawings, within Hydrologic Unit Code 08090302, West Central Louisiana Coastal, Louisiana.

CHARACTER OF WORK:  The applicant has requested Department of the Army authorization to remove an existing wharf in order to install and maintain approximately 100 linear feet of vinyl bulkhead along Bayou Dularge and to deposit approximately 350 cubic yards of hauled in topsoil behind the bulkhead for land reclamation.  The structure will extend approximately 26 feet channelward where Bayou Dularge’s width is approximately 115 feet wide. No dredging is required for the proposed project.  Approximately 0.06 acre of non-wetland waters will be impacted with the fill activities.  There will be no impacts to jurisdictional wetlands; therefore, no compensatory mitigation has been proposed at this time.

The applicant has stated that the project has been designed to avoid and minimize direct and secondary adverse impacts to the maximum extent practicable.  If compensatory mitigation is required as a result of the proposed work, the applicant proposes to mitigate in-kind wetland credits form a Corps approved mitigation bank located in the watershed.
