How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice.

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page. Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period. The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request. If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT: Chet Morrison Contractors, LLC, c/o Michael Trahan of T. Baker Smith, LLC, PO Box 2266, Houma, LA 70361.

LOCATION OF WORK: In Houma Navigation Canal, Section 104, T17S-R17E, approximately 9 miles southwesterly from Gueydan, Louisiana, in Terrebonne Parish, within the Mississippi River Basin in hydrologic unit (HUC 08090302), as shown on the attached drawings (Latitude 29.569917 N, Longitude -90.71501 W).

CHARACTER OF WORK: The applicant has requested Department of the Army authorization to construct a bulkhead including dredge and backfill, as well as to clear, grade, and deposit fill and/or aggregate material to construct and maintain a loading and parking lot for equipment and vehicles. Approximately 18,000 cubic yards of dredged material will be utilized as backfill for the bulkhead, and approx. 20,266 cubic yards of earthen material and 9,750 cubic yards of aggregate material will be hauled in and deposited to achieve required grade elevation requirements. Approximately 9.7 acres of wetlands and 2.3 acres of waters of the US would be directly impacted by the proposed project.
