How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice.

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page. Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period. The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request. If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT: ADRIEN DANOS, 120 East 163^rd Street, Galliano, Louisiana 70354.

LOCATION OF WORK: Bayou Laurier, in Section 24, Township 22 South, Range 23 East, at 30050 Louisiana Highway 1, Grand Isle, Louisiana, (29.187055, -90.090305), in Lafourche Parish, as shown on the enclosed drawings, within Hydrologic Unit Code 08090301, East Central Louisiana Coastal, Louisiana.

The work described below was partially completed prior to obtaining a Department of the Army permit and was in violation of Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbor Act of 1899 and Section 301 of the Clean Water Act. All legal issues concerning the unauthorized work have since been deferred.

CHARACTER OF WORK: The applicant has requested after-the-fact Department of the Army authorization to install and maintain a 50-ft long by 20-ft wide deck, two (2) 20-ft long by 4-ft wide piers in Bayou Laurier, and to place approximately 90 cubic yards of rip-rap material along the shoreline for erosion protection and approximately 480 cubic yards of gravel at an existing campsite. Approximately 0.20 acre of wetlands have been impacted by this activity. As compensation for these wetland impacts, the applicant proposes to mitigate in-kind wetland credits form a Corps approved mitigation bank located in the watershed.
