How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice.

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page. Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period. The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request. If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NOTICE OF PROPOSED INTENT TO ACCEPT FUNDS FROM THE STATE OF LOUISIANA, COASTAL PROTECTION & RESTORATION AUTHORITY FOR EXPEDITING DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY PERMISSION AND PERMIT APPLICATIONS

This Special Public Notice announces the proposed intent of the United States Army Corps of Engineers (“USACE”), New Orleans District (“CEMVN”), to accept and expend funds from the State of Louisiana, Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (“CPRA”) for the purpose of providing expedited review, evaluation, and processing of Department of the Army (“DA”) permission requests and permit applications to be submitted by CPRA for their proposed Calcasieu Salinity Control Measures (“Project”).

This Special Public Notice solicits comments from the general public, concerned agencies, and organizations on the subject of the acceptance and expenditure of funds to be contributed by CPRA to expedite the evaluation of DA permission and permit requests pursuant to 33 U.S.C Section 2352, also referred to as Section 214 of the Water Resources Development Act of 2000, (“Section 214”), as amended by Section 1006 of the Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2014. The public comment period under this Special Public Notice is twenty (20) calendar days.
