The 15 critical, near-term restoration projects identified in the Louisiana Coastal Area program are intended to provide relief from coastal landloss and supplement large-scale, long-term restoration programs and studies that will restore natural features and ecosystem processes.  Several restoration techniques are employed in these projects, including river diversions, marsh creation and barrier island restoration.
