  • Corps launches new wetland assessment method

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District initiated use the new Louisiana Wetland Rapid Assessment Method (LRAM) to determine impacts to wetlands and calculate compensatory mitigation requirements for activities permitted under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899.

    Water levels along the Mississippi River continue to drop, prompting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to deactivate the Phase II Flood Fight. Phase I procedures will continue until the river at the Carrollton gauge falls below 11 feet.
