Final roadway restoration continues on portion of Jefferson Avenue

NEW ORLEANS – Weather dependent, beginning Monday, Oct. 24, at 7 a.m. and lasting until Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m., final roadway restoration will continue on Jefferson Avenue from Dryades to Constance streets as crews place roadway striping. This work is related to the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA) Jefferson Avenue Phase II.

During this work, northbound (lakebound) traffic will be maintained. The parking lanes on Jefferson Avenue will not be available; “no parking” signs will be in place. Driveway access will be available intermittently with access being restricted while striping is occurring in a certain location and for the subsequent drying time of possibly two hours. If residents need driveway access on these days, they are encouraged to park on side streets as access may not be immediately available.

Throughout construction, the Army Corps will continue to coordinate closures with its partners at the City of New Orleans and the Sewerage & Water Board.
