Lane closure to occur on portion of Jefferson Avenue for roadway work

Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA)

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District will temporarily close a portion of Jefferson Avenue, tomorrow, September 27, 2016 for roadway repairs. This work is related to the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA).

The north bound (lake bound) travel lane on Jefferson Avenue from S. Liberty to Clara streets will be closed from approximately 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. while temporary asphalt is placed in the travel lane. Traffic will be detoured to Soniat Street. As a portion of the roadway is completed, it will be reopened. This work is expected to take approximately one day to complete.

Throughout construction, the Army Corps will continue to coordinate closures with its partners at the City of New Orleans and the Sewerage & Water Board.
