Street closure to occur near Florida Avenue for work related to SELA

Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA)

 

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District will temporarily close a section of Montegut Street for work related to the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA).

 

Weather dependent, beginning Monday, April 18, 2016, Montegut Street will close between Florida Avenue and N. Dorgenois Street for box culvert construction and related utility work. Local access will be maintained. This closure is estimated to last until the end of 2017.

 

Florida Avenue is currently closed from Almonaster Boulevard to Mazant Street for drainage canal construction. The project is scheduled to be complete in 2018.

 

Throughout construction, the Army Corps will continue to coordinate closures with its partners at the City of New Orleans and the Sewerage & Water Board.
