Lane closure to occur on section of Jefferson Avenue for SELA work

Published Nov. 5, 2014

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, and its contractors will temporarily close the eastbound land of Magazine Street at Jefferson Avenue for work related to the Southeast Louisiana Drainage Project (SELA).

Beginning Friday, November 7, 2014, the eastbound (downtown bound) lane of Magazine Street will be closed at the Jefferson Avenue intersection. Eastbound traffic will be detoured south to Tchoupitoulas Street and back to Magazine Street via Napoleon Avenue. The westbound (uptown bound) lane will remain open through the intersection. The lane closure is to finish water line installation that began last month. This closure will last approximately four weeks.

Throughout construction, the Corps will continue to work closely with its partners at the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans and the City of New Orleans. For questions or comments, please call the SELA Construction Hotline at 504-585-2450.
