NEW ORLEANS – The Company Canal barge gate is being opened as a result of the water level subsiding below 2 feet.
On Sunday, southern winds pushed water into the Company Canal, prompting the Southeast Levee Flood Protection Authority – West to request New Orleans District assistance in closing the canal gate.
The Corps of Engineers has been working closely with SLFPA-W to increase public safety to local homes and businesses.
