NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), in partnership with the State of Louisiana’s Office of Coastal Protection and Restoration (OCPR), is hosting a series of scoping meetings to gather public input for the planning and execution of near-term critical restoration projects identified in the Louisiana Coastal Area Ecosystem Restoration Plan (LCA Plan).
As part of the National Environmental Policy Act process for major Federal actions having a significant effect on the environment, the Corps will be hosting two scoping meetings in September to gather public input. Scoping meetings allow the public the opportunity to identify issues and alternatives to be addressed in an environmental document, which are incorporated into the Environmental Impact Statement.
