Road to close at Highway 90 in St. Charles Parish

Western Tie-in Project, Hurricane & Storm Damage Risk Reduction System - (near Davis Pond Diversion)

 

NEW ORLEANS - As an emergency response measure, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, Louisiana State Police and the St. Charles and Jefferson Parish Sherriff's Departments has made the decision Monday, August 27, 2012 to close the Western Tie-In construction closure on Highway 90 in St. Charles Parish beginning at midnight.  It will take DOTD approximately 12 hours to complete the closure.

 

West bound lanes will close first.  Eastbound lanes will begin to close at approximately 6 am on Wednesday. The detour route will be US Hwy 90 at Interstate 310, on the west side and US Hwy 90 at Live Oak Street, on the east side. Louisiana State Police will be at each location to provide safety for the work crews.  LSP will have troopers stationed at the detour routes in St. Charles Parish. Motorists are asked to plan ahead and to avoid these areas.
