NEW ORLEANS -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, has extended the public review and comment period ending on Sept. 2, 2025, to now end on Sept. 12, 2025, for the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal Lock Replacement Draft General Reevaluation Report and Integrated Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement.
The draft report was released for an initial 45-day public review period May 30, 2025. In July, the comment period was extended an additional 45 days, ending on Sept. 2.
Additionally, the Clean Water Act Section 404(b)(1) Public Notice public review and comment period has also been extended to end on Sept. 12, 2025. The Clean Water Act Section 404(b)(1) Public Notice was released for a 30-day public review period on June 6, 2025. In July, the comment period was extended an additional 45 days, ending on Sept. 2.

All materials from the public meeting held June 28, 2025, also are available online.
The general public, interested parties, and stakeholders are invited to comment on the release of the draft report. The draft report contains a description of the project, an evaluation of the alternatives under consideration, and an analysis of potential environmental impacts. All public comments received will be considered as part of the continued development of the final report, which is scheduled for completion later this year.
