Jefferson Heights Slope Pavement project to being Sept. 12

Published Sept. 10, 2019

NEW ORLEANS - A slope pavement project on the Mississippi River levee will limit use of the multi-purpose access road (bike path) on the East Bank by Ochsner Medical Center in Jefferson Heights beginning Sept. 12, 2019 and last for 90 days, weather dependent.

The project will not close the multi-purpose access road, but safety personnel will restrict access for the safety of the workers and residents.

Work on the project consists of adding two sections of slope pavement to the levee to increase safety for the South Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-East Bank maintenance crews. The project was slated for construction earlier this year but was delayed due to the high river.
