Corps to present final green space plans for Jefferson and Louisiana avenue corridors

Work related to the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA)

 

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, will host an open house to present the final green space plans for the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA) on the Jefferson Avenue and Louisiana Avenue corridors.

 

Residents will be able to view design plans block by block and speak to representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Parks and Parkways.

Currently, both contracts are expected to be awarded in December with planting to begin in January or February of 2019.

Green space plans for Claiborne Avenue and Napoleon Avenue are being developed and are tentatively scheduled to be awarded in summer 2019. An additional open house will be held to present these plans.

WHEN: Thursday, Dec.13, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m.

WHERE: Holy Ghost Hall, 2035 Toledano Street, New Orleans, LA

WHO: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Parks and Parkways will be present to address questions.
