Temporary closure to occur on Prytania Street at Louisiana Avenue

Work related to the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA)

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, will temporarily close a portion of Prytania Street at Louisiana Avenue for work related to the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA).

The closure is tentatively scheduled to begin on Monday, March 19th and will last for approximately three weeks. During the closure, Prytania Street will be closed on the west (uptown) side of Louisiana Avenue. During the closure, traffic will be maintained on Louisiana Avenue. Traffic traveling west (uptown) on Prytania Street will be able to access Louisiana Avenue. Traffic traveling east (downtown) on Prytania Street will be detoured prior to reaching Louisiana Avenue.

This closure is for drainage work and roadway restoration.

Throughout construction, the Army Corps will continue to coordinate closures with its partners at the City of New Orleans and the Sewerage and Water Board.
