Landscaping contract awarded for the Dwyer Road Corridor

Work related to the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA)

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, recently awarded a contract for landscape implementation on Dwyer Road from Downman Road to Camelia Court. The landscaping contract is being implemented because of construction impacts incurred during drainage work completed in 2013 as a part of the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA).

On September 27, 2017, the Army Corps awarded the $730,800 landscape implementation contract to New Orleans based contractor K-Belle Consultants, LLC. The contract includes the installation of native trees, bio-retention areas, a walking path, and concrete benches. A presentation that includes additional details about the landscape implementation plan, including renderings, can be found on the SELA webpage on the Army Corps’ website.

Construction is expected to begin in November 2017 and be completed in summer 2018. For additional information or questions, please call the Army Corps Construction Hotline at (877) 427-0345.

Throughout construction, the Army Corps will continue coordination with its partners at the City of New Orleans, the Sewerage & Water Board and the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority.
