Temporary road closure to occur on Magazine Street at Napoleon Avenue

Work related to Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA)

 

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, will temporarily close a portion of Magazine Street for work related to the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA).

 

On Tuesday, December 20, 2016, beginning at 8 p.m., Magazine Street will close at Napoleon Avenue for approximately 10 hours, weather dependent. Traffic traveling west bound (uptown bound) on Magazine Street will be detoured at General Pershing Street. Traffic traveling east bound (downtown bound) on Magazine Street will be detoured at Jena Street. North bound (lake bound) and south bound (river bound) traffic will be maintained on Napoleon Avenue.

 

Throughout construction, the Army Corps will continue to coordinate closures with its partners the City of New Orleans and the Sewerage & Water Board.
