Corps to limit public access to Bonnet Carre Spillway during pipeline construction

NEW ORLEANS – Due to construction on the Parkway Pipeline, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District will be closing off public access to a portion of the Bonnet Carre' Spillway Lower Guide Levee north of Airline Hwy until further notice. This action is being taken to ensure public safety during construction on the pipeline stretching from Airline Hwy to Lake Pontchartrain, parallel to the protected side of the lower guide levee. The St. Charles Parish recreation area will remain open during construction.   

 

Boh Brothers will be mobilizing construction equipment to the work site later this week. Construction will take several months.  Members of the public are asked to remain clear of the construction site and all related equipment.
