NEW ORLEANS – Gates at the Harvey canal were opened around 12:30 a.m. after the water level in the canal reached 2 feet.
Harvey Canal sector gates were closed Tuesday when winds and rain associated with a low pressure system increased the water level in the canal.
The Company Canal barge gate remains closed at this time.
The Corps of Engineers is working closely with SLFPA-W and Jefferson Parish to increase public safety to local homes and businesses.
