ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

Viewing Notices. To view a Public Notice and its associated Drawings file (if any), click on the "Public Notice" or "Public Notice and Drawings" link and any additional links included in the attachments section. How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

WATERWAY AND LOCATION: The project would affect waters of the United States and navigable waters of the United States associated with the Amite River and Lake Maurepas. The project/review area is located within the Amite River from LA Hwy 22 to the Lake Maurepas and along the cypress shoreline of Lake Maurepas up to near the mouth of the Tickfaw River; at Latitude 30.295825 and Longitude -90.560594; Livingston Parish, Louisiana.

PROPOSED WORK: The applicant requests authorization to dredge the Amite River from LA Hwy 22 to the mouth of Lake Maurepas. The applicant is proposing to dredge approximately 2,700,000 cubic yards over 98.66 acres and deposit the dredged material along 56.79 acres of shoreline of the Amite River. The applicant is also proposing to deposit the dredged material into a 1,246-acre lake placement site along the cypress shoreline from the mouth of the Amite River up to near the mouth of the Tickfaw River. The spoil material will be placed. The applicant is proposing to directly place the dredged material in 501.85 acres of cypress wetlands to nourish the declining cypress swampland. The applicant is proposing to place the dredged material into 744.15 acres of other waters along the lakeshore that will be pushed back into the cypress swamp due to normal wave energy over time.
