ALL projects are sorted by issuance date. The public notices and drawings are in PDF formatted files. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to view the files. If you don't have it, you may download it free from www.adobe.com.

How to send comments. Comments can be mailed to the address appearing in the Public Notice or emailed to the Project Manager identified on the Public Notice. Comments made in reference to a Public Notice should include your name, address, and phone number as well as the permit application number identified on the Public Notice. 

Individuals or parties may request an extension of time in which to comment on the proposed work by writing to the project manager or clicking on the project manager’s name on the public notice grid on the web page.  Any request must be specific and substantively supportive of the requested extension, and received by this office prior to the end of the initial comment period.  The Branch Chief will review the request and the requestor will be promptly notified of the decision to grant or deny the request.  If granted, the time extension will be continuous to the initial comment period and, inclusive of the initial comment period, will not exceed a total of 30 calendar days.

NAME OF APPLICANT:  Ingram barge Company, c/o Lanier & Associates Consulting Engineers, Inc., 4101 Magazine St., New Orleans, Louisiana 70115.

LOCATION OF WORK:  Within the Mississippi River Basin, in the Lower Mississippi River – Baton Rouge hydrologic unit (HUC 08070100); in the Mississippi River, right descending bank, mile 184, near Modeste, Louisiana, in Ascension Parish.

 CHARACTER OF WORK:  The applicant has requested authorization to install and maintain a new fleeting operation to service the Geismar market.   The proposed fleet will contain four blocks of barges.  The first block will contain six tiers of 9 barges each.  The second block will contain seven tiers of 9 barges.  The third block will contain 10 tiers of 9 barges, while the fourth block will contain five tiers of 9 barges.  The three upriver blocks will be secured with spud barges, shoreline anchors and a safety anchor.  The downstream block will be secured by steel monopiles and a string of spar barges.  All shoreline anchors will be installed via barge mounted crane.  

To minimize impacts to wetlands, the applicant will install all structures from the waterway.  No wetland impacts are proposed.  Due to the lack of wetland impacts, no mitigation is anticipated.  If it is later determined that mitigation is required, the applicant will purchase wetland credits from a Corps approved mitigation bank located within the watershed.
