NEW ORLEANS – The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is funding Corps work as part of the Baton Rouge to Gulf of Mexico Project.
A $29,474,850 contract was awarded to CAYO, LP of Cleburne, Texas, a small business, Hubzone business on September 11, 2009.
ARRA funds will be used for pile dike repairs at Southwest Pass. Work began September 17, 2009, and is currently scheduled for completion early in December 2010.
The Corps’ ARRA project list represents a set of productive investments that contribute to economic development and aquatic ecosystem restoration. These projects will achieve the purposes of the Recovery Act to commence expenditures quickly by investing in infrastructure that will provide long-term economic and environmental benefits to the nation. Moreover, the projects are fully consistent with the president’s direction to ensure that ARRA funds are spent responsibly and transparently.
